KAMI learned that Aki’s father, actor Paulo Avelino, opened up during the mediacon for “Marry Me, Marry You” about Aki’s situation in New York.
According to a report by PUSH, Paulo revealed in the interview that his 11-year-old son Aki is now studying in New York, although the actor did not specify which school Aki is enrolled at.
“Medyo touchy topic na yan pero sa ngayon nasa New York din siya and happy naman siya. Nag-aaral na siya doon ngayon,” the actor revealed.

He also shared some details about his long-distance relationship with his son. According to Paulo, he and Aki have phone calls every now and then but their main bonding moments come when they are both playing online games.
“We do phone calls every now and then kung kailan siya free since baliktad na din yung oras. Minsan masyado nang late rin para makausap ko siya. Pero usually ang bonding namin parang gaming rin talaga. Kumbaga, parang mahilig din sa games yung anak ko. Siguro nagmana sa tatay,” Paulo shared.
The Philippine Star also reported that Paulo reached out to LJ after her controversial breakup with Paolo.
LJ Reyes is a Filipina actress who rose to fame for being one of the Final Four in the 2nd season of the widely-acclaimed GMA reality TV show, StarStruck. Her ex-boyfriends include actors Paulo Avelino and Paolo Contis. She has a son named Aki with Paulo and a daughter named Summer with Paolo. LJ and her children are currently staying in New York.
As reported earlier by KAMI, LJ Reyes admitted that she did ask Paolo Contis if he still wanted her and the kids to come back to which he said no. The actress claimed that Paolo became a different person in the past several months. She added that Paolo was barely home and refused to communicate properly with her during those difficult months.
Meanwhile, LJ also took the internet by storm when she was unable to answer if there was a third party involved in the issue. She said that many people could answer that question without her saying anything. Many netizens believe that her response to Boy Abunda's question seems to indicate that there was a third party involved in their split.
