In GMA News report, Reyes stated that they were not arrested per se but they were simply brought to the barangay hall and got reprimanded.

He also explained that he was invited to the game and thought that it already obtained a permit.

Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes recently made headlines for allegedly being "arrested" in San Pedro, Laguna. This was after he was seen participating in an unsanctioned game of billiards on March 11. A video of the said incident, showing the Billiards Legend’s supposed arrest, likewise went viral. The spokesperson of Laguna provincial police then clarified that Reyes was not arrested in the raid.
