Ruffa Gutierrez opened up about her traumatic experience with her ex-husband.
According to the actress, she is still scared of him years after they separated.
The former beauty queen narrated her experience and revealed what she truly feels about her former partner.
Ruffa said in an interview with ABS-CBN that she feels fear towards her ex-husband, Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas, despite his countless invites for her to visit him. She said:
Would you believe until now I’m still afraid of my ex-husband? Even if he’s invited me so many times to go back, I don’t want to go back because I have this notion in my head that he will kill me.
She added that she still feels pain in her heart whenever he is brought up into the topic. Ruffa added:
It's very difficult. You learn from those lessons but when we discuss it, like right now, there’s still pain in my heart. So I guess you never really forget whatever those experiences have brought you, but you just learn and you move on.
The actress also shared that she acquired PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) because of her experience.
Along with sharing what she went through, Ruffa encouraged other women who are going through the same thing to speak up.
It’s better to speak out and be free and not live in fear anymore than continue your life in a prison cell...
