He was involved in the ‘pork barrel scam’ back in 2013 along with former senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Erile. KAMI reported before that Revilla was able to allegedly get a P224.5 million kickback from his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel which was supposed to be used for government projects. He was detained and was charged with plunder. He is still in detention to date.
In 2015, GMA News reported that 43 bank accounts, 28 properties and 15 vehicles under the name of Revilla were frozen as ordered by Sandiganbayan. Revilla cannot sell, renovate nor demolish those if his plunder case is still on going. By 2016, he was declared as 5th richest Filipino senator in a report by iMoney.
Among the 15 vehicles are Mitsubishi Montero, Toyota Hi-Ace Grandia, Nissan Frontier Navarra, Toyota Corolla, Mitsubishi Adventure GLX, Cadillac Escalade, Toyota Jeep, Mitsubishi L300, Fuso Jitney, BMW 730 Li, Hyundai Starex Van, Lexus LX570 Wagon, Isuzu NHR and two Toyota Innova Wagon.

In July 2018, the Supreme Court upheld their decision to freeze the assets of Revilla.
Based on a report by Top Most 10, Revilla ranked as 9th richest Filipino celebrity this 2018. He has a net worth of P100 million. He has around 60 films up until 2012 and TV shows as well.
In a recent report by KAMI, despite his detention in Camp Crame, Revilla filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) through his wife, Lani Mercado-Revilla to make a comeback as a senator.
According to Revilla, “Ikinulong man nila ako, hindi nila maikukulong ang aking puso, diwa, at pagmamahal sa bayan.”
His wife, Lani, is very hopeful that Revilla will be free by the time Christmas comes.
