President Rodrigo Duterte took time away from governing and politics to celebrate the first birthday of his grandson Marco Digong "Stonefish" Carpio.

The Duterte family had a reunion in Davao City for the birthday boy on March 2.

Special Assistant to the President Bong Go took photos from the event.

Duterte's first wife Elizabeth Zimmerman was also present.

Stonefish is the youngest child of Duterte's daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio.

He is the third child of Mayor Duterte and lawyer Manases Carpio.

Stonefish has two older siblings, Mikhaila Maria and Mateo Lucas. Their nicknames are Shark and Stingray.

According to Rappler, Mayor Duterte love the sea that's why she nicknamed her children after sea creatures.

Stonefish is one third of a triplet. He is the only one to survive a miscarriage. Sara lost the other two in September 2016.

Mayor Duterte said last year that Stonefish was "blessed by two presidents" because former president Joseph Estrada is one of his godfathers.

Stonefish was born on March 2, 2017 via caesarian section at 12:56 PM.

He weighed 2.42 kilograms when he was born.

Mayor Duterte conceived the triplets through in vitro fertilization. However, a few weeks after they announced her pregnancy in July 2016, she lost two of the triplets.

Only Stonefish survived.
