At such a young age, Ben Pineda and Sandra Entroso fell in love, which GMA News reported.
Around May 2016 they officially became a couple, Ben was 14 and Sandra was 15.
However, KAMI learned from TheInsights.Press that just two months after, their relationship was put to the test as Ben suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
They were devastated to find out that Ben suffered from Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy, a type of brain injury which happens when there is a lack of oxygen to the brain.
Ben's life suddenly turned upside down as he is now bedridden due to loss of muscle coordination and as a result caused him the inability to speak.
But Sandra stayed by her boyfriend's side despite his deteriorating condition.
Everyday after class she goes straight to Ben to look after him.
