- A total of six young women went missing in Zamboanga City in the past few years
- All of them were later found dead
- The victims include Erica Jean Rosal, Maria Clariz Faylona and Mary Jane Herrera
Many local residents are alarmed as the number of missing women in Zamboanga City who later turned up dead continues to rise.
One of those women is Erica Jean Rosal.
The 20-year-old went missing on January 4 but her dead body was found two days later, with her hands tied behind her back and her face smashed beyond recognition.
Another victim was Maria Clariz Faylona.
The 23-year-old student of the Zamboanga State College of Marines Science and Technology (ZSCMST) was reported missing on April 2.
But seven days later, her lifeless body was found without clothes and her face was also severely smashed.
Mary Jane Herrera, who was a 16-year-old high school student of the Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School, went missing on November 12, 2015.
After a month, her skeleton was accidentally found by workers who were digging a deep well in a village in Pasay. Her skeleton was wearing her school uniform and ID.
There are also three other unresolved cases of women disappearing and then turning up dead later in the past few years.
According to the police, these unresolved cases all took place in Zamboanga City but they are unrelated to each other.
