Netizens flocked his Facebook account and the media also took noticed. The news and viral photo has reached the hopeful mother of Ja-El, Jona Penamora-Flores.
According to netizens, the kid resembles the photo used by Ja-El’s parents in their posts and posters.
Netizens pointed out the big, round eyes of the kid, which is one of Ja-El’s prominent features.
The shape of the lips of the two is similar.

Though not really visible in the viral photo, the kid is called “balat” because of his birthmark. Ja-El is said to have a birthmark on his forehead.
Moreover, he does not know his real name.
However, some netizens claimed that birthmarks tend to fade or lighten as the skin stretches.
Lastly, while Ja-El has fair skin and the street kid hasn’t, it must be taken to consideration that the kid lives in the streets.

The concerned citizen said that the kid is only six years old, but netizens think that the kid is older and there is also a possibility that the kid does not know his real age.
Mommy Jona and family rushed to Novaliches to verify the identity of the viral kid. However, Jona's sister, Penelope, told KAMI.com.ph that they are having a hard time to talk to the kid, at the time of writing, probably due to shock.

Here is what netizens wrote about the story of Ja-EL:
God always make a way..
- Mother instinct and/or lukiso ng dugo... Alam mong anak mo pg nkita mo.. Kung my budget PRA Jan then go pra tlgang mahanap mo n mommy ang iyong anak. Don't loose hope.
- Its sad...
