Former Pangasinan representative Rachel Arenas is the newly appointed head of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board or MTRCB.
Arenas has been staying in office for two weeks and she said that there is nothing to change in the agency so far.
“Ang gusto ko lang na in this term of mine, unang-una sana magkaroon ng charity ang amin ahensya. Pangalawa, gusto ko sana kung may babaguhin sa Saligang Batas, magawa namin during my term,” Arenas said.
(The only things I want for my term in this office are, first, for this agency to have its own charity. Second, if ever they will make changes to the Constitution, I hope we will be able to accomplish it.)
When asked about her opinion on blogger Mocha Uson’s appointment as one of the board members of MTRCB, Arenas said, “Siyempre, meron din siyang sariling opinion and everyone naman has the right to their opinion (Of course, she has the right to express her own opinions).”
Arenas added that she only wants unity in the agency and if there will be a misunderstanding, there is always a way to fix it and that Mocha will understand.
“It’s a small agency, it hasn’t been controversial the past years, I want it to remain that way and I’m hoping that it remains that way,” she added.
Arenas is a former congresswoman from Pangasinan and she shared that Mocha is also from the same province.
