Dennis Trillo shared a pointed message after Patrick Garcia opened up about Alex Jazz, his son with Jennylyn Mercado, in a recent tell-all interview.

In a Facebook post, Dennis made it clear that he does not support the bashing directed at Patrick. However, he also thanked the actor for mentioning and remembering Jazz.

“Hindi ako pabor sa bashing, pero salamat at naalala mo si Jazz dahil sa pag bash sa anak mo. O spread LOVE not Hate,” Dennis wrote.

His post came shortly after Patrick spoke at length about his relationship with Jazz during an interview with Ogie Diaz.

In the interview, Patrick said the last time he personally saw his son was in 2017. He admitted that his meetings with Jazz had not always been consistent through the years.

Patrick recalled that when Jazz was younger, he was able to spend time with him and even accompany him to therapy sessions.

“I was very involved. Naputol lang,” he said while explaining that there were periods when he and his son stopped seeing each other.

According to the former actor, he continued trying to contact Jennylyn from 2018 onward but claimed that he did not receive a response.

“I messaged Jen, 2018 till present day, hindi siya nagre-reply sa akin. So, hindi ko naman puwedeng ipagpilitan ang… you know, I can’t force myself,” he said.

Patrick also shared that he and Jennylyn were able to speak again in 2021 when she allegedly informed him that Dennis wanted to legally adopt Jazz. Patrick said he agreed to the arrangement.

He also addressed criticisms about his responsibilities as a father. Patrick admitted that his last financial support for Jazz was also in 2017.

The actor explained that he decided to speak publicly because criticisms against him had also affected his other children and family.

“Hindi po ako masamang tao, I did not leave a pregnant woman hanging,” Patrick said. “So, I’m not evil.”

Dennis has previously spoken about being protective of Jazz. In a 2025 interview on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” he said defending the teenager from online attacks came from a parent’s natural instinct and was also meant to stand up for others in similar situations.
