Actor-businessman Derek Ramsay has been summoned by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) over the alleged use of a fake license plate on his Porsche 918 Spyder while the luxury vehicle was being driven on public roads.

According to a report by Philstar, the LTO verified that the alphanumeric combination displayed on the Porsche's license plate differed from the vehicle's original plate number. The agency is now seeking an explanation from the actor and the car's designated driver regarding the disputed plate.
Both were instructed to appear before the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division and explain the circumstances surrounding the license plate. They were also asked to address why their respective licenses should not be suspended or revoked in connection with the alleged violation.
The Porsche 918 Spyder has also drawn enforcement action from the agency. DZRH reported that the high-performance, street-legal sports car was placed under “alarm status,” with the LTO Law Enforcement Service ordered to impound the vehicle.

LTO chief Markus Lacanilao emphasized that the agency's rules apply regardless of a person's identity or the value of the vehicle involved.
“There are no VIPs when it comes to law enforcement. Regardless of who is involved, anyone proven to have committed a violation will face the corresponding consequences,” LTO chief Markus Lacanilao said.
He further stressed the agency's position against the alleged use of unauthorized plates.
“There is no favoritism, no excuses and no exemptions. The LTO does not tolerate the use of fake license plates or the evasion of mandatory obligations.”
Lacanilao added that neither social standing nor the price of a vehicle should provide an exemption from regulations.
The LTO chief said that a person's status or name, as well as the value of the vehicle, cannot be used as grounds to avoid enforcement.
The matter remains an allegation as the LTO continues its investigation and awaits the explanations requested from Ramsey and the designated driver.
