Rita Avila recently penned a lengthy post about herself amid her series of posts on her political views.
She started her post by sharing people’s reactions to her exhibiting support for Vice President Leni Robredo’s presidential bid.
“Maraming salamat sa mga nagdi-DM na masaya sa mga posts ko tungkol kay VP Leni.”
“Shempre may mga nagagalit dahil hindi kaanib.”

“Ang laging tira ay ang edad ko at ang kasukatan ng pag-aartista ko.”
“Eh wala namang problema sa akin dahil matanda naman na ako talaga. Ung tungkol sa kasikatan? Matagal na akong hindi nangarap nun. Sa mga batang artista na lang yun o sa mga may nais nun.”
She then described herself and stated why she has been vocal with her stances.
“Simpleng tao lang ako. Alam yan ng mga kakilala ako o nakatrabaho ako.”
“Sa edad kong ito, ano pa ba ang gagawin ko kundi magbigay at mag-iwan ng maayos na aral o payo sa inyo. Yan din ang sinasabi ng mga aklat na sinulat ko.”
She furthermore wrote, “Hindi ko kayo dadalin sa pagiging masama. Nadadapa din at nagkakamali ako pero katulad nyo lang bilang tao tayo.”

Rita Avila, or Josefina Pascual Yasto in real life, is a Filipina actress and author. She wrote a book called "8 Ways to Comfort with Grace" which centers on her sad moments when she and her husband lost their three-week-old son.
Rita has taken to social media to laud Rappler CEO Maria. This, after the journalist received 2021 Nobel Peace Prize award along with Russian journalist Dmitry Muratov. In an Instagram post, she recalled Ressa’s woes amid the current administration.
Rita also took to Instagram and made a collage of the reactions of netizens to Mayor Isko Moreno's remarks against VP Leni Robredo. She then captioned it with a statement saying that Mayor Isko just imperiled himself this early. The veteran actress then said that it's quite a good thing that she did not turn up becoming Isko's mother in movies, and added, "hindi talaga maganda ang kutob ko sa'yo".
