"I understand the negative sentiments of our kababayan on this issue but let us not forget why this incident happened in the first place: May isang motorista na imbes na humingi ng paumanhin at panagutan ang kanyang pagkakamali ay gumawa ng eksenang pang-teleserye at pampelikula," Eleazar said.

He also added that Jake, as an actor, must set a good example, own up for his mistakes and to face the consequences.

The PNP Chief also said that a thorough investigation will be conducted, focusing on whether the use of a gun to disable the vehicle was proper.

Jake Cuenca is an actor, model, and endorser in the Philippines. He is currently in a relationship with actress and beauty queen, Kylie Versoza.

Jake Cuenca's car was mistakenly identified as among those part of the "buy-bust" operations. The actor did not stop when he was flagged by non-uniformed personnel, and only stopped when he saw uniformed police officers. The policemen mistook his car for a suspect's vehicle because it was tinted and had big wheels, but they did not find anything illegal in it upon search. He was not also carrying a gun, nor did he shoot at a Grab rider.

The Philippine National Police will no longer file charges against actor Jake Cuenca. Unidentified policemen shot the wheels of the car of the actor when they tried to hail him on the road. As per Bandera, Inquirer, seeing that they were not in uniform and were in civilian clothing, Jake opted not to stop his vehicle. It was only when he saw uniformed policemen that he stopped his car, however; the policemen already shot his tire.
