The Philippine National Police (PNP) will no longer pursue a case against actor Jake Cuenca, according to an acquaintance of the actor who narrated such to Bandera.

Based on the report made by Bandera, Inquirer, an acquaintance of the actor revealed that he was initially flagged down by a group of ununiformed men and because there was no indication of their authority, Jake sped up and stopped only when he saw a group of policemen.

However, there was already damage to his car since the one who initially flagged him shot at his tires.

Now, since Jake did not have anything on him or in his car, the PNP will not file a case anymore, said the report.

The policemen who shot his car, however, are currently being detained.

According to an earlier report in Manila Times. Brig. Gen. Matthew Bacay, Eastern Police District director, said that the police had to "disable" the car to prevent Jake from escaping. The incident happened in Mandaluyong City, Saturday night.

CNN posted photos of SOCO operatives inspecting the impounded car of the actor.
