He also said that he's already exposed to politics as he has relatives occupying elective positions.

Arjo then said that his interest in politics began since he was still in high school.

However, he thinks no one would believe him if he says that because it's only now he's starting to engage himself in politics.

The multi-awarded actor said that the Filipino people deserve sincere public servants.

Arjo became the subject of discussion last month of showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz and Mama Loi in their vlog that discussed the incident in Baguio City involving the actor. It can be recalled that Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that the actor, who tested positive for COVID-19, left Baguio without permission. Ogie and Mama Loi then shared Arturo Atayde's reaction to the issue. According to Arturo, he needed to be rushed to a hospital in Manila to see his physician.

For her part, the actor's GF, Maine Mendoza, expressed hopes that people will not pass judgment based only on what they read on social media. The actress said this in reply to a netizen questioning why she appeared to tolerate the alleged wrongdoing of her boyfriend, Arjo Atayde. Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ordered an investigation into Arjo's alleged violation of the health protocols while doing a shoot in the city. Meanwhile, Arjo's production outfit has issued an official statement regarding the incident and explained why they had to rush the actor back to Manila without informing the Baguio City government.
