According to the actress-turned entrepreneur, there were no more jobs in the Philippines and it came to a point that she could no longer meet her monthly expenses.
There was a time that it was her mother, who was already 73 years old, who was taking care of the bills.
Donita confessed that she could no longer bear that she burdens her mom.
“I felt so bad. My mom is 73 years old. Ayoko naman na parang ganito na lang ang buhay ko..." said Donita.
Hence, she flew to the U.S. to seek better opportunities, which she did.

Donita Rose is a former actress who also used to be a popular VJ for MTV Asia. Donita and her ex-husband have a son named Joshua Paul. Donita has moved on already from her marriage and is now a happy single mother.

Donita Rose shared on Instagram that she is now the corporate research and development chef at Island Pacific. Island Pacific is a Filipino supermarket chain in the United States that has 14 stores in California and three in Nevada. The former MTV VJ also said that she is working with G Tongi and Maricel Aguilar to “bring Philippine Cuisine to the next level.” Many of her fans and followers congratulated her for her impressive achievement.
Donita Rose took to social media to share a couple of photos from her high school days. According to the former MTV VJ, unlike most people, she was not at all embarrassed about her high school photos. Donita even proudly claimed that her hair fashion was ahead of her time and shared that she was cool when she was growing up. Netizens and celebrities commented on Donita's Instagram post and expressed their delight at having seen old photos of the corporate chef.
