The photo shows a young Shawie with a friend she identified as Elaine, with both of them in high school uniforms.

Sharon went to what used to be an all-girls school, St. Paul College now known as St. Paul University in Manila, during her high school years.

St. Paul University has since gone co-ed beginning 2005.

“Aileen and me in 1979 or 1980 in St. Paul College, Manila!” Sharon wrote in her caption, then adding the tags @egan_aileen @lorrainerecto, which indicates both women still maintain communications up to now.

Based on Sharon’s caption that the photo was taken either in 1979 or 1980, she must have been either 13 or 14 years old at the time.

Earlier, the Megastar recorded the iconic song “Mr. DJ,” which went on to become one of the most popular singles in the country.

Sharon went on to become a multi-awarded actress and singer with numerous awards under her belt.

Sharon Gamboa Cuneta-Pangilinan, sometimes referred to as Shawie, Megastar, or Mega, is a Pinay actress, singer, TV host, entrepreneur, and commercial endorser. She was born on born January 6, 1966 in Santa Mesa, Manila, Philippines to the late Pablo Cuneta, a former Mayor of Pasay City, and Elaine Gamboa, the sister of Helen Gamboa, wife of Philippine Senate President, Vicente “Tito” Sotto III. The Megastar is married to Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan. Sharon holds the distinction of having the most Box Office Queen titles in Philippine movie history. She has won the “Best Actress” award several times over from prestigious Philippine award giving bodies like the the Metro Manila Film Festival, Film Academy of the Philippines, Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS), PMPC Star Awards for Movies, People's Choice Awards, and many more. As a singer, she also earned multiple awards including Diamond Record, Quadruple Platinum Record, Triple Platinum Record, Double Platinum Record, Platinum Record, Gold Record, AWIT Awards, and a whole lot more. She also has earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Board of Directors of the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry.

Recently, Sharon, who is in the United States now, posted a number of photos, which showed that she is having a blast. She was with friends, who, like her, were so happy to be going around different places in California. The Megastar went to Solvang and Santa Ynez on June 12, and was in Santa Barbara the following day. Indeed the actress was able to relax and breathe, as shown in her photos.

Mega also bared her heart out and finally found the courage to reveal the real reason why she went to America. She said that she needed to breathe, which was true because she was mourning at the time. The Megastar needed a time off in the U.S. because she was heartbroken for losing a role in a Steven Spielberg movie. She lost it because a laboratory gave a false positive COVID-19 test result.
