Catriona Gray recently took to Instagram to share her thoughts and musings regarding Philippines Independence Day which is celebrated every June 12 of each year.
In her Instagram post, the beauty queen can be seen in a mask and face shield while holding out her thumb which is stained with purple ink.
The singer also wrote an inspiring message in celebration of Independence Day by urging fellow Filipinos to register in order to vote for the next election.
According to Catriona, Filipinos should not only remember the past but also take part in the creation of the country's future which they can accomplish by voting wisely in the 2022 election.
"The fight for freedom and independence is a constant and enduring one. Today let's not just look back on history but instead ask ourselves how we are playing a part in writing our future. Happy Independence Day my beloved Pilipinas. #ArawNgKalayaan."

Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray is a singer and beauty queen who represented the Philippines in Miss World 2016 and Miss Universe 2018. She became the fourth Philippine contestant to win the Miss Universe competition. Catriona was born in Australia to an Australian father and a Filipina mother.

Catriona previously filed a couple of complaints against Bulgar Tabloid editor Janice Navida and writer Melba Llanera after they published an article with "fake" photos of the beauty queen. Catriona's lawyer, Atty. Joji Alonso took to social media to share that the complaints her client filed have been resolved.
