Ely Buendia gave an interview to celebrity couple, Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro for their podcast, 'Wake Up With Jim & Saab".

Naturally, their talk turned to the topic of Ely's former band, Eraserheads which has reached legendary status in the Philipines to this day. The frontman spoke up about how he finds the lyrics to their song, 'Minsan', "cringe-worthy" because a lot of people believed that the song pertains to the friendship and bond between the bandmates.

Ely revealed that this is not true at all. He said, “I don’t wanna break hearts again but we were never close. We were never friends. That’s why we broke up.”

However, the singer clarified that he has a good working relationship with the rest of the band which included Raymund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala despite the fact they were not friends.

Ely Eleandre Basiño Buendia, popularly known as Ely Buendia, is a Filipino musician, author and film director who gained fame as the guitarist, lead vocalist, and principal songwriter of the famed Filipino rock band, the Eraserheads. He currently performs as the guitarist and singer-songwriter of the band, Apartel.
