The two were initially seen as strong contenders for the Miss Universe 2020 crown, with both of them donning on national costumes, particularly that of Miss Thailand, which amazed the crowd.

The national costume of Rabiya was equally marvelous, though it became the subject of controversy after some netizens bashed her for allegedly violating provisions of the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines.

On the part of Rabiya, the beauty queen said that it took much effort to walk while carrying all 21-kilo weight of her national costume, to the point that she was injured in the process.

Despite the hardships, she carried on with grace and aplomb.

However, fate did not smile on her as she was not able to clinch a spot on the Top 10 contenders for the crown.

Surprisingly, another crowd favorite, Miss Thailand Amanda Obdam also failed to secure a spot on the Top 10.

When the event ended and candidates began to exit the stage, the two, Rabiya and Amanda, were seen holding each other’s hands as they walk off the area with heads held up high.

This goes to prove that true friendship is more important than any type of competition.
