- Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla posted a photo of Lapu-Lapu in commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan
- He said that he is giving a salute to Ferdinand Magellan in the caption
- He also said that Magellan laid down his life for the freedom of the country 500 years ago
- In his latest post, he blames an intern for posting the caption to the meme
Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla may have just made a blatant mistake online in ascribing to a Spaniard, the explorer Ferdinand Magellan, a recognition meant only for Filipino heroes.
In a post, a screenshot of which was captured by netizens and has gone viral, the son of Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. said:
"A salute to the bravery of one of our first heroes Ferdinand Magellan who sacrificed his life for freedom 500 years ago."
In his latest post though, he said that it was not him, but the caption was made by an intern.
"I apologize for the earlier confusing post on our celebration of Lapu-lapu’s victory in Mactan 500 years ago. An intern in our social media team posted the caption to our meme without first clearing it. Again, my sincerest apologies to our Cebuano countrymen and to all Filipinos."
Ramon "Jolo" Revilla III is a Filipino actor, comedian, and now a politician. He formerly worked under GMA Network. Now, he is the vice governor of Cavite.
Bong Revilla Jr.’s new Instagram post touched his fans and followers online. The senator uploaded a photo of the family reunion he hosted in celebration of the birthday of his son, Jolo Revilla. Bong feels blessed and joyful because he got to celebrate his son’s birthday with his loved ones. He also told his family members in the same post that he missed their smiles and laughter.
Jolo Revilla took to Instagram and penned his wife a lovely and super sweet message. The couple is celebrating their first year anniversary and the son of Sen. Bong Revilla is very happy with their achievement as a couple. In his message, he said that there were trials during the year but their love actually prevailed. He also looked forward to more years together with his wife, who, like him, could be seen as very happy too.
