Solenn Heussaff recently disclosed in an Instagram post that she allows her one-year-old daughter Thylane to watch television but only for a couple of minutes every week.
The actress also said that the shows her toddler watches are in foreign languages. “She is now allowed 5 minutes of cartoons per week. BUT in French or Spanish only,” Solenn said.
Her revelation, especially on the show’s languages, puzzled her followers, with many of them asking why the cute baby is limited to only French and Spanish shows.
To answer their question, Solenn explained that Thylane can already hear other languages being spoken in their home.
“She hears English every day with everyone so she will learn it fast. She hears Tagalog every day at home and with family, so it will come naturally just like English,” the actress said.
The “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” co-star then said that her toddler hears French only from the actress and her dad, while Thylane only hears Spanish from Nico.
Solenn added that exposing her daughter to several dialects is a good thing. However, she admits she does not know if her baby is able to distinguish between all the languages she hears, or if she thinks all four are one and the same.
“Anyways, read in many books, the more languages you expose a baby to, the better,” the sultry actress said.
Thylane turned one year old in January this year. To mark the occasion, Solenn posted a heartwarming message for her daughter on Instagram.
“Love of my life. You are 1 today. What a crazy year, but the best with you. Thank you for being my best teacher,” she wrote in her post for Thylane’s birthday in January.
The doting mother also wrote she will keep on learning from her daughter. “My love for you will never stop growing. Stay wild and be who you want to be. Te amo!!!!” Solenn said.
