Suzette Doctolero, the writer of “Voltes V: Legacy”, received criticisms from anime fans, including known cartoonists Pol Medina Jr. and Kevin Raymundo.

Recently, Medina created a comic strip that mocks Doctolero, being the writer of GMA-7’s newest live-action adaption of the Japanese anime.

Doctolero took to social media her response to Medina’s comic strip. According to the writer, the cartoonist and everyone else must avoid judging "Voltes V"s storyline, especially that they have not seen it yet.

“Ayos sa sampalan at sabunutan, dude ah (although may episode sa anime na nanapak talaga si VV haha) pero wala pa nga o, huwag muna judge nga. (emoji)”

She also commented on how the cartoonist looks down on soap operas.

“Sobrang Baba naman yata ng tingin ni Pol sa soap opera at sa drama writer para ireduced ito sa “sampalan at sabunutan”. Offensive ito.
“Katumbas ito ng baduy at bakya noong 80’s hanggang early 2000’s. Kung saan ibinabagsak at minamata lang ang soap opera at mga manunulat nito.”

She also included sarcasm in her post.

“Pero tignan mo, hanggang ngayon buhay ang soap habang sisinghap singhap na ang cartoons ni Pol (joke! Alangan namang ikaw lang pwedeng mag joke hehe).
“Kailan din kaya huling nanood ng soap itong Mamang ito at nasa sampalan at sabunutan mode pa rin? Hello! May tadyakan na rin kami ngayon! Hehe.”

The comic strip also mentioned Michael V. as a better writer to make sure the script is faithful to the source material.

Then, Raymundo, also known as ‘Tarantadong Kalbo’, posted another comic strip on social media, featuring "Voltes V" and Doctolero.

Doctolero also took the time to react to the said post:

“Tarantadong Kalbo ayusin mo banat mo d*ckhead. Writer ako. My words are fatal. Okey na tayo kahapon e. Akala ko ayos na. Nagsimula ka na naman. At iniisip mo uurungan kita?”

Soon, the two were exchanging comments. Raymundo replied:

“Suzette anubayan lahat ng post kinomentan. Akala ko tapos na yung issue kahapon. (emoji) anyway goodluck on your show guys!”
“Tarantadong Kalbo ano ba yan stalker na kita. Naka tag ako e. Pati pala pag cocomment ko gusto mo kontrolin?”
“hindi po ako ang nag-off ng comments section. Everyone is welcome to give their two cents here, kahit na bad words yan (emoji)”

Suzette Doctolero is the drama writer who created the Kapuso adaptation of the "Voltes V" anime. She is a screenwriter for television series and films.
