Vice Ganda recalls time when Showtime was pitted against AlDub

Vice Ganda looked back at the time when “It’s Showtime” was pitted against the mini-serye of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.
KAMI learned that the prominent comedian aired his honest thoughts about the rivalry during the recent episode of the said noontime show.

He began by saying that one of the things that he cannot endure is if he is told that his show will already bid goodbye on national television.
Vice then admitted that he already has a hint of how it feels like since he thought “It’s Showtime” was about to end a few years ago because of AlDub.
He also said that there was a time when he assumed that the management of the Kapamilya noontime show will already cancel it because of the low ratings that it was receiving.
“Ako talaga, hinanda ko talaga yung sarili ko na feeling ko talaga tatanggalin kami nung panahon ng AlDub. Prangkahan na. Panahon ng AlDub, feeling ko wala nang nanonood ng Showtime. Parang buong Pilipinas, nakatutok sa AlDub…” he quipped.
“Tapos ang baba-baba na ng ratings ng Showtime… Dumating ako sa punto na feeling ko anytime soon tatawagan ako ng management at sasabihin nila na, ‘We are cancelling the show.’ Tapos hindi nangyari… Hindi ako nilaglag. Hindi nilaglag yung show…” he added.
