Eleanor Villanueva, the incumbent mayor of Bocaue, Bulacan, has passed away on Thursday, May 28.
KAMI learned that the said politician is the sister of Senator Joel Villanueva.
As of this writing, no announcement was made yet regarding the Mayor’s cause of death.
However, messages of condolences have already been given to her bereaved family.
Ron Munsayac, the executive director of PDP-LABAN, offered prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of the said local chief executive.
“The PDPLABAN offers its condolences, sympathies, and prayers for our beloved partymate Mayor Joni Villanueva-Tugna,” he quipped.
“She has always been one of our exemplar local chief executives as evidenced by her dynamic leadership in Bocaue, Bulacan,” he added.
Sen. Villanueva is also lamenting the death of his sister as he posted a black photo on his social media account.
In a previous article by KAMI, Sonny Parsons, a prominent member of the all-male group “Hagibis,” also passed away at the age of 61.
Joni Villanueva is one of the most dynamic politicians in the country. She earned praises last month for buying vegetables to local farmers and distributing them to her constituents.
