Kim Chiu gets emotional over ABS-CBN shutdown

Earlier this week, the National Telecommunications Commission sent a 'cease and desist' order to ABS-CBN after the network's franchise expired on Monday, May 4.
Following this news, various celebrities in the showbiz industry have expressed their strong opinions over the issue on social media.
KAMI learned that among these stars is Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu who recently participated in the Laban, Kapamilya online rally event on Facebook which was held yesterday, May 8.

In the video, Kim began by addressing the lengthy Instagram post she uploaded after ABS-CBN went off the air.
According to Kim, "Minsan kasi sa dala ng galit, sa dala ng lungkot, may masasabi kang salita na nakalimutan mo na artista ka na pala.
"Bilang artista, nakakulong kami dito sa bahay na walang magawa para sa kumpanya na pinagtatrabahuhan namin at tumutulong sa amin."
Kim also shared that her home network has been her platform to achieve her dreams and goals in life and expressed that it could be the same for other Filipinos.
"Sa dami dami ng Pilipino na nangangarap, sa daming ordinaryong tao na nangangarap, na parang tinanggalan niyo sila ng pag-asa dahil maraming platform ang ABS," she said.
The Love Thy Woman actress also sent a message to the bashers and trolls on social media, "Kaya kayong mga basher, mga trolls.
"Kung yung mga masasakit na salita na sinasabi niyo samin, hindi kami naka-graduate, mag-artista na lang kami, wala akong pakialam.
"Dahil sa trabaho kong 'to, napatapos ko ng pag-aaral yung apat na kapatid ko. Naalis ko sila dun sa bahay na maliit na nagsisiksikan kami. Kung nagawa ko, magagawa din yun ng ibang tao."

As reported earlier by KAMI, Kim Chiu took to social media to talk about her home network ABS-CBN after it got shut down. The shutdown occurred after the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered ABS-CBN to “cease and desist” from broadcasting on television and radio.
Kim Chiu is one of the most well-known actresses in the Philippines. She broke through in showbiz by joining “Pinoy Big Brother.” The Kapamilya star is in a relationship with actor Xian Lim. Her former boyfriend is Gerald Anderson.
