D-Loading is the son of Keisha Rowe and Antonio Russell. D'Angelo Russel brothers are Antonio, Lashaun, and Tayshaun. He has one sister named Cloee Russell. Although he was born in Kentucky, D'Angelo Russell ethnicity is Afro-Americans.
He attended Central High School in his hometown and later on transferred to Monteverde Academy in Florida for his sophomore year. He helped the school to win a back-to-back High School National Tournament championship.
