The tragic event has left the Alpine nation reeling, with Interior Minister Gerhard Karner labeling it a "national tragedy."

Heavily armed police, paramedics, and a helicopter responded swiftly to the scene on Tuesday. Nine victims were declared dead on site, and a tenth — a woman — later succumbed to her injuries in hospital, ABS-CBN reported.

Seven of the deceased were female and three male, though officials did not release their ages. Among them was a 17-year-old French student, according to his father.

The gunman, who had previously attended the school but did not complete his studies, acted alone. Dreierschuetzengasse High School has around 400 students aged 14 to 18.

"In my home country it happens more often as we know but that it happens here is unheard of," said a nearby resident from the United States, declining to be named. She described the shooting as "a lot to take in."

Roman Klug, 55, who lives near the school, said, "Graz is a safe city" and the school is "known for its openness and diversity."

Chancellor Stocker called the attack "a dark day" for Austria. Condolences poured in from across Europe.

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed, "France extends its deepest sympathy to the victims' families, the Austrian people and Chancellor Stocker during this difficult time."

In a previous report by KAMI, a family of three was mercilessly shot and killed inside their store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. Caught by CCTV, three men entered their store, closed the roll-up door, and shot the entire family to death. Before fleeing, one of the suspects even grabbed a bag and a mobile phone from the victim. In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
