Rescuers discovered her body embracing a young student, protecting the little one until her last breath.

According to Broadcasting & media production company Khaosod English, Teacher Kanokwan just graduated on September 26 and she took a photo with her mom, both wearing smiles.

The school bus was reportedly on an official school field trip.

Khaosod English reported that her mother has been calling her but there was no answer.

An appeal on social media to remember her name as among those who protected her students until her last breath, along with two other teachers, has gone viral.

Recently, news of the driver of the Thailand school bus who fled the scene while the bus was engulfed in flames being arrested by police authorities spread like wildfire online. In a report by South China Morning Post, the driver told authorities that he ran away due to panic. It can be recalled that the incident hugged headlines worldwide after it was revealed that 23 of the bus’ occupants died from the raging blaze, among them young students and teachers. According to reports, the blaze quickly spread with many of the occupants unable to escape the violent inferno.

According to authorities, 23 perished in the blaze which happened on Tuesday. Several others were injured in the said incident.
