British professional boxer Georgia O'Connor has just passed away. She was 25 years old.

Her promoter, Boxxer, announced the unfortunate news in an Instagram post published on Thursday, May 22.
“We are heartbroken by the passing of Georgia O’Connor. A true warrior inside and outside the ring, the boxing community has lost a talented, courageous and determined young woman far too soon.”
“Georgia was loved, respected and admired by her friends here at BOXXER,” it also wrote, honoring the late boxer.

According to a report by BBC, O'Connor announced earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with cancer after dealing with ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation and sores (ulcers) in part of the digestive tract, Mayo Clinic noted.
It is also worth noting that O'Connor recently posted on her social media page that she had married the “love of her life.” The couple tied the knot on May 9, 2025.

Georgia O'Connor was a decorated amateur boxer at junior level, winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017. She signed with promoter Ben Shalom's Boxxer when she turned professional and was undefeated in three fights, as per BBC.
