Carlos said he felt overwhelming pride watching his brother deliver such a strong performance, emphasizing how impressive Eldrew’s routines were. He described his emotions by saying, “Sobrang nakaka-proud po. Grabe, ang ganda ng laban.”
He went on to explain that Eldrew’s success was especially meaningful because he knew the sacrifices behind it. Carlos noted in the interview that Eldrew had worked tirelessly and visualized this moment repeatedly throughout his training. He expressed this by stating, “Nakakatuwa para sa kanya. Alam ko pinaghirapan niya lahat 'yon, 'yung mga practice niya.”

Carlos also addressed the challenge Eldrew faced competing despite an ankle injury. He said that the situation showed how much Eldrew loved the sport, explaining the difficulty of pushing through such circumstances. He emphasized this by adding, “Makikita mo rin po, masasabi mo rin po na mahal na mahal niya 'yung sport.”
He further discussed how discouraging injuries can be and how much internal motivation is required to continue. He described the emotional struggle by saying, “Kung huhugutin mo sa pinakailalim yung motivation mo, siyempre nakaka-down po 'yon.”
Despite this, Carlos highlighted how admirable Eldrew’s mindset was, noting that he did not allow the setback to defeat him. He shared his admiration through the line, “Sobrang nakakatuwa na nakakabilib din dahil hindi siya nagpatalo sa sarili niya.”
