ABS-CBN News’ Dyan Castillejo, who was covering the event, had the chance to meet Francine at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City as Eldrew wrapped up his campaign with two bronze medals. According to ABS-CBN’s post, Francine was seated beside Eldrew’s brother, Carlos Yulo, and his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, while they watched the competition together.

In her brief conversation with Dyan, Francine introduced herself and confirmed that she is in a relationship with Eldrew. She shared that they first met within their residential community. When asked how she felt during the finals, she said she was not nervous and expressed happiness and pride in seeing Eldrew compete at the World Championships, noting her awareness of the hard work he had put into his training.

“Masaya po and proud, kasi alam ko po yung hardship niya din sa Japan,” Francine aired.

Francine also mentioned that she is a student enrolled at Santa Isabel College. Dyan ended their exchange by complimenting her, and Francine responded politely.

Eldrew closed his Junior World Championships stint with two bronze medals, earning praise for his consistent performances. With family members and loved ones—including Francine—cheering him on, the 17-year-old athlete ended his campaign on a high and hopeful note.
