Carlos Yulo, kabilang na sa Philippine Navy Reserve Force

The two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, dubbed “Golden Boy,” formally joined the Philippine Navy (PN) Reserve Force.

The PN officially welcomed the gymnast into its reserve force during a ceremony on October 1, 2024, at the Navy Headquarters.

In the ceremony attended by MGen. Joseph Ferrous Cuison, Commander of the Naval Reserve Command, the Olympian was awarded the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class (PO1).

“I am proud to have the privilege of being enlisted in the Philippine Navy Reserve Force, a recognition I never expected in my lifetime. Wearing this Navy uniform fills me with immense pride. With all my heart, I thank the Philippine Navy for this prestigious recognition. I will uphold its core values and inspire today’s youth, showing them that through sports, they too can serve our country,” Yulo expressed, emphasizing his commitment to serving the Philippines beyond sports.

In a message delivered by MGen. Cuison, Navy Flag Officer-in-Command Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr. conveyed his confidence in Yulo.

“Your dedication, discipline, and drive made you a champion on the world stage, and now, you bring those same qualities to the Philippine Navy. We know that when you commit to something, you give it your all. I am confident you will do the same as a reservist, standing alongside men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting and uplifting our nation,” Vice Adm. Adaci Jr. said in his message.

In the photos, the two-time Olympic gold medalist could be seen wearing a crop top/ In the comments section of Chloe San Jose's recent FB post, one netizen curiously asked if Caloy was wearing Chloe's crop top in the viral photos. Caloy's girlfriend then openly answered the netizen's query.
