The digitally created image appeared to poke fun at the senator’s past imprisonment by portraying him as a graduate of a fake university associated with prison life. Rather than reacting negatively, however, Padilla embraced the image and used it as an opportunity to reflect on one of the most difficult chapters of his life.
In a lengthy social media post, the actor-turned-senator expressed gratitude to the creator of the AI-generated artwork and even said he wanted to have it immortalized on canvas.
“Maraming salamat po sa gumawa nito.

Alhamdulillah
Napakaganda po talaga 🙏
Ipaguhit ko po ito sa canvass.”
Padilla went on to explain why he has never hidden his prison experience, saying he remains proud of the lessons he learned during those years.
“Ipinagmamalaki ko po talaga ang 3 taon ko sa University of Prison,
Dito sa lugar na ito ang tunay na
Unibersidad ng buhay!”
According to the senator, prison became the place where he learned how to face the consequences of his actions and develop a deeper fear of God.
He described it as an environment where inmates constantly discussed their criminal cases, reflected on their mistakes, and confronted the realities of their lives.
Padilla also shared that many of the people he encountered behind bars were individuals affected by poverty and what he described as a lack of justice.
He further explained that prison exposed him to people from various backgrounds and different types of criminal offenses, allowing him to better understand both human behavior and the country’s justice system.
Among those he mentioned were individuals convicted or accused of crimes such as murder, snatching, robbery, burglary, drug pushing, pickpocketing, gang-related offenses, and even corruption.
In his reflection, Padilla said prison strips away pretense and reveals people’s true character, making it a place where life’s harshest lessons are learned firsthand.
He added that universities and schools often visit correctional facilities because there are valuable lessons to be learned from the experiences of inmates.
Padilla concluded his post with a powerful statement about the realities of incarceration.
“Madali lang ang pumasok dito,
Ang mahirap ay ang makalabas at mag graduate…
with honors o with death..”
His post quickly circulated across social media, generating thousands of reactions from netizens.
