“The decision of my father, Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr., to voluntarily submit himself to the authorities was a deliberate step to confront the accusations head-on and to affirm his faith in our legal institutions.
Hindi ito pag-iwas, kundi pagharap. He believes that the proper place to resolve these issues is inside the courtroom, where facts matter and the law speaks louder than speculation.
As a son, this is a difficult moment for our family. As a legislator, I recognize the importance of accountability and the integrity of due process. In this light, we respectfully call for fairness—fair treatment under the law, fair judgment based on evidence, and fairness in public discourse that refrains from trial by publicity.
I therefore ask the public and the media to allow the justice system to work—without pressure, noise, or premature conclusions.
Nagpapasalamat kami sa patuloy na panalangin at malasakit ng mga taong nananatiling naniniwala sa patas at makatarungang paglilitis. Sa huli, naniniwala kami na ang katotohanan ang mananaig.
Thank you.”
Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is a former senator, veteran actor, and long-time public figure in Philippine politics and entertainment. He rose to prominence in the 1990s through action films before transitioning into public service, serving multiple terms as senator and earlier as governor of Cavinti, Cavite. He is married to actress Lani Mercado, who is currently a representative of Cavinti, and they have several children, including Cavite 1st District Representative Jolo Revilla. Over the years, Revilla has remained a polarizing but influential figure, balancing a showbiz career alongside high-profile political roles.
As previously reported, former Senator Bong Revilla Jr. appeared before the Sandiganbayan on Tuesday, January 20, after voluntarily surrendering to authorities the night before. The anti-graft court issued a warrant of arrest and a hold departure order against him in connection with a non-bailable malversation case. Outside the court, dozens of supporters dressed in white gathered to show their support and express belief in his innocence. The case centers on allegations involving a ₱92.8 million ghost flood control project in Bulacan that was allegedly paid for but never implemented.
In a related development, the Sandiganbayan issued the arrest warrant on January 19, 2026, citing Revilla’s alleged involvement in the ₱92.8 million project in Bulacan. Investigators reported that ₱76 million was released for a flood control project in Pandi that was officially declared completed despite no structure being built. A hold departure order was also issued against Revilla and six co-accused, preventing them from leaving the country. Revilla has denied the accusations, maintaining that his right to due process was violated and insisting on his innocence despite the non-bailable nature of the charges.
