Sen. Imee Marcos, nag-withdraw na sa partidong ineenderso ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos

- In a statement she released on Wednesday, the lady senator said she cannot stand on the same campaign platform as the rest of the Alyansa

- The presidential sister underscored that she will remain independent

Sen. Imee Marcos announced on Wednesday, March 26 her departure from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, the party endorsed by her brother Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

The presidential sister’s decision came days after the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

The lady senator took to her social media pages to announce the said development.

“Sa patuloy nilang pagbanggit ng executive privilege at sub judice rule - kahit sa mga pagkakataong walang malinaw na kaugnayan ang mga ito sa tanong na ibinabato ang mga kinatawan ng gobyerno sa pagdinig ng Senado noong nakaraang linggo ay mistulang nagtatago ng mahahalagang katotohanan,” she wrote in the statement.

“Paulit-ulit nilang hirit sumusunod lamang ang bansa sa pandaigdigang kasunduan. Pero ang hayagang pagtatakip sa katotohanan ay lalo lamang nagpalakas ng hinala na maaaring nalabag ang Saligang Batas at nabawasan ang ating soberanya sa pagkakaaresto ni dating Pangulo Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” she stressed.

Sen. Marcos then underscored that she can no longer stand on the same platform with the rest of the Alyansa senatorial candidate. She said she will remain independent.

“Sa aking mga paunang natuklasan, na ilalahad ko sa mga darating na araw, malinaw na may mga hakbang na ginawa ang administrasyon na salungat sa aking mga paninindigan at prinsipyo. Dahil dito, hindi ko na magagawang mangampanya at tumuntong sa iisang entablado kasama ang iba pang kasapi ng Alyansa. Tulad ng aking sinabi mula sa simula ng panahon ng halalan, mananatili akong independyente.”

“Higit sa anumang pulitikal na pakinabang, dapat manaig ang soberanya ng bansa at ang tunay na katarungan para sa bawat Pilipino,” she added.

She is calling for a probe on the arrest, and would want to establish whether due process was followed in his arrest. The senator also said that she is inviting key officials and agencies including officials from the PNP, OTS-DOTr and a lot more.

In the comments section of his recent post, the netizen asked, “Direk saan ba talaga ang puso mo, sa mga Marcos o Duterte?” The director then gave a straightforward answer to the netizen. Yap also previously penned a lengthy post about his support for former President Rodrigo Duterte, where he also talked about his friendship with Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Imee Marcos.
