More celebrities and members of showbiz families are running for government positions in the 2025 elections.

In a post by ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe, Abi Viduya, actor Ryan Yllana, Yeoj Marquez, and Allen Tan submitted their COCs for councillorship in Parañaque City.

Viduya is the wife of Jomari Yllana, Marquez is the eldest son of Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez, while Tan is the husband of singer Roselle Nava.

Furthermore, another son of Joey Marquez, Jeremy Marquez, seeks a House seat as the first nominee of the Solo Parents party-list.

The said personalities filed their COCs on Monday, October 7, in the conference room of the Parañaque City Hall.

News, photos or videos that arouse the interest of netizens would often go viral on social media, due to the attention netizens give them. These viral posts appeal to the emotions of netizens, and in rare cases, such could also happen to ordinary people, making them very relatable.

Rolando “Rastaman” Plaza has officially filed his Certificate of Candidacy for senator. He submitted his COC on Saturday at the Manila Hotel, as per Philippine Star. It can be recalled that Plaza filed his COC for senator in 2019 but later declared a nuisance candidate. Plaza went viral after he claimed to be “half-human, half-zombie” in an interview.

Vilma Santos-Recto and her two sons, Luis Manzano and Ryan Recto, have filed their Certificates of Candidacy. The veteran actress and politician will be running for governor of Batangas, while her eldest son, actor and host Luis, will be running for vice governor. Ryan, on the other hand, will be running for congress, specifically for representative of the 6th District of Batangas. In the photo shared by GMA News, Vilma's husband, former senator Ralph Recto, and Luis' wife, Jessy Mendiola, came with them when they filed their respective COCs.
