VP Leni Robredo, in a formal letter, warmly congratulated VP-Elect Sara Duterte-Carpio on her proclamation as the 15th vice president of the country.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) in the same letter also acknowledged the receipt of incoming VP Sara requesting for her team to meet with VP Leni’s team.

“Warmest congratulations on your proclamation as the 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines. We respectfully acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 27 May 2022 requesting an initial meeting between our respective teams,” VP Leni said in a letter to VP-Elect Sara.

She also said that her team is ready to meet with VP-Elect Sara’s team to answer any queries they may have about the OVP.

“Please be advised that we are ready to meet to answer any questions you may have regarding the Office of the Vice President,” the outgoing VP further said in the letter.

VP Leni expressed her and her team’s willingness to take all steps necessary so there would be a smooth transition.

“…Take all necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition,” the outgoing VP said.

The outgoing VP then gave her best wishes to the incoming VP.

“Again, congratulations, and all the best,” VP Leni said.

VP Leni Robredo is the incumbent vice president of the Philippines. She is a human rights lawyer. Her husband was the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo. They have three daughters, namely, Aika, Patricia, and Jillian.

The vice president and her daughters recently arrived from the United States after attending the graduation of Jillian from New York University. VP Leni, together with her daughters, arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1 at around 10:30 p.m. Authorities at the airport tried to offer VP Leni assistance, however, she opted to go through the usual arrival process. VP Leni and her daughters also spent some in New York after the graduation of Jillian.

She also made her first social media post after she arrived in the Philippines with her daughters. She declared that she is ready to work again and that she's energized by the longest vacay she had in 10 years. The Vice President apologized to those whom they were not able to "meet up" in the U.S. She also revealed that she promised her daughters to be devoting her time to them.
