Jose Manalo is one of the most important and beloved hosts on the GMA noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”

KAMI learned that Jose’s path to becoming a regular host on the program was a difficult one.

According to the comedian, he started out as a personal assistant, before becoming a floor director who had to provide jokes for the hosts.

He also narrated how he got scared when the show’s big boss told him to resign, only to tell him later that he was being promoted as a regular host.

“Nakikita lang nila ako as PA… Hanggang sa naging floor director ako.

“Ako yung nagfi-feed ng jokes sa mga hosts, hanggang sa ino-on cam na nila ako, naka-headset pa ako.

“One time, kinausap ako ni Boss, ni Mr. Tuviera. Mag-resign na raw ako.

“Nanginig dibdib ko. ‘Ano ba ang nagawa ko?’

“Pagsabi niya sa akin na gagawin nila akong host, hindi na’ko nakapagsalita,” Jose narrated.

Jose Manalo is a Filipino actor, comedian, and one of the regular hosts of the noontime variety show, “Eat Bulaga.” One of his latest projects was the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry entitled “Jack Em Popoy.”
