“I appeal to my fellow candidates, VP Leni Robredo, Bongbong Marcos, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, Senator Ping Lacson, Ka Leody, that due to the devastation of typhoon Odette that we set aside all politics and join together all our resources to help our fellow Filipinos in Visayas and Mindanao,” Pacquiao posted on his social media accounts.

Robredo responded to Pacquiao’s call by agreeing to team up with him to bring assistance to those in need.

“Joining you in this call, Sen. Manny… Our team will get in touch with yours,” Robredo said.

Pacquiao expressed his appreciation for Robredo and told her to coordinate with him since he has already done preparations for a quick response to the disaster.

Many netizens praised both Pacquiao and Robredo for not letting politics get in the way of helping people.

“Thank you VP Leni. Let’s begin coordinating our efforts, we already prepared cargo lanes so we can mobilize and respond quickly,” Pacquiao replied to Robredo.

Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world boxing champion, considered one of the greatest boxers in history. He also found success as a politician, first becoming a congressman before getting elected as a senator.

The boxer is married to Jinkee Pacquiao and they have five children – Jimuel, Michael, Mary, Queen Elizabeth, and Israel Pacquiao.
