According to a report by GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Tuesday, the twins' disappearance was brought to the attention of police in August. Their grandmother sought assistance after she could no longer locate her grandchildren.

Authorities later discovered that the children's mother had allegedly sold them for P27,000. However, the twins' whereabouts remained uncertain as investigators continued working to locate them.

Further investigation revealed that the children had allegedly been sold again, this time to another buyer in Candaba, Pampanga, for P30,000.

Police eventually located and rescued the twins on Sunday with assistance from the Southern Police District. Following their recovery, the babies were placed under the custody of the Taguig City Social Welfare and Development Office to ensure their protection and proper care.

Both the children's mother and the individuals who allegedly purchased them are expected to face appropriate complaints in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) emphasized the serious consequences of selling minors, warning that such transactions could expose children to various forms of abuse and exploitation.

WC Usec. Angelo Tapales explained that children may become victims of different illegal activities when they are sold.

“Maraming purpose na masasama ang pagbebenta ng bata. May mga bata pong ibinebenta for the purposes of child labor… child explo*itation, for slavery, may for purposes of organ-harvesting. There are bad things that can happen with children if we do not follow the law,” Tapales said.
