Unfortunately, while waiting in the area, he crossed paths with an unidentified attacker. Law enforcement investigators quickly determined that the elderly victim had no prior conflict with anyone in the vicinity, firmly concluding that the sudden violence was completely unprovoked.
Local authorities strongly believe that the suspect attacked the victim out of pure randomness or a baseless grudge against a stranger.
In an official interview detailing the early findings of their ongoing investigation, Police Major Jesus Tambalo, the deputy chief of the Urdaneta Police Station, explained the senseless nature of the crime.
“Nakursunadahan po doon sa lugar na ‘yon kung saan ito po ay nagsaksak,” the police official stated, emphasizing how the innocent father was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Immediately following the sudden assault, highly concerned bystanders and emergency responders desperately tried to save the deeply injured father.
He was frantically rushed to the nearest medical facility for urgent medical intervention. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the attending medical personnel, the 62-year-old victim did not survive the severe injury he sustained during the unprovoked attack and was tragically pronounced dead.
As of the latest updates, the grieving family members of the victim have yet to release an official public statement as they try to process the massive weight of their sudden loss.
Meanwhile, the Urdaneta Police Station has intensified its investigative operations, deploying multiple units to track down the fleeing suspect.
Authorities are heavily relying on neighborhood testimonies and available street footage to finally put the assailant behind bars and serve justice for a loving father whose only mistake was ensuring his child's safe return home.
