According to a report aired by GTV News Balitanghali on Friday, footage taken by another motorcycle rider showed the pickup moving slowly along C5 Road. The rider followed the vehicle and eventually caught up with it before signaling the driver to stop.
The recording showed that the pickup’s front and rear tires on the left side appeared to be flat. The vehicle eventually stopped near an elevated U-turn slot along C5 Road, where the driver got out.
LTO Chief Markus Lacanilao commented on the driver’s apparent condition, saying that the motorist seemed to have consumed alcohol. However, the circumstances surrounding the alleged collision remain subject to the agency’s investigation.

The driver, for his part, denied claims that he fled after the pickup allegedly struck the motorcycle. This denial comes as the LTO seeks an explanation from both the driver and the vehicle’s owner regarding the incident.
The agency has scheduled their appearance for October 13, when they are expected to address the circumstances surrounding the reported collision. Neither the driver nor the vehicle’s owner had issued a statement regarding the matter at the time of the report.
The preventive suspension is a measure imposed while the LTO looks into the case. Further details about the alleged collision and the driver’s account may emerge as the proceedings move forward.
The incident also highlights the importance of establishing what happened on the road through available footage and the accounts of those involved. For now, the driver’s denial and the allegations surrounding the incident remain part of the matter awaiting clarification before the LTO.
