A 31-year-old mother and her two children, aged nine and four, were discovered unresponsive inside a vehicle in Barangay Talacsan on Thursday afternoon.

According to initial reports covered by GMA News Online, barangay officials were alerted to the scene around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Upon arrival, they found the victims inside the car, which was parked in a secluded path frequently used by cattle caretakers.

To expedite the probe, a case conference was convened at the San Rafael Municipal Police Station on Thursday evening.

The investigation continued early Friday morning when Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) returned to the location to conduct 3D scanning of the vehicle.

This forensic measure is intended to preserve the integrity of the scene and collect potential evidence from the vehicle’s interior.

While detectives have interviewed immediate family members, including the sister of the deceased, authorities have yet to confirm the cause of death or whether foul play is suspected.

San Rafael Vice Mayor Edison Veneracion has stated that the local government is committed to extending full assistance to the victims’ relatives during this period of grief.

As the investigation progresses, the local administration is also exploring ways to improve security in the area, specifically through the installation of additional lighting and CCTV cameras.
