A group of minors allegedly attempted to rob passengers of a jeepney in Las Piñas City, according to a report from TV Patrol.

In a video that circulated online, several youths were seen climbing on and off the jeep’s footboard while it was stuck in traffic. They were also banging on the vehicle’s windows, causing alarm among passengers.

The incident reportedly happened along Alabang-Zapote Road at around 6 p.m. on Saturday. Based on information from Barangay Almanza Uno, around 15 minors were involved.

Moments later in the video, it was heard that one of the youths was carrying an ice pick. According to a barangay official, the same individual allegedly pointed it at a passenger. “Until now po nilulocate pa rin namin kung saan nakatira yung batang may dala ng ice pick. Siya rin po ang tumutok yata doon sa pasahero,” the official said.

The official added that even adult passengers felt threatened during the incident. “Kaya kahit na matatanda yung pasahero ng jeep, parang medyo natakot din sila,” the official shared.

Authorities also revealed that the minors had already been called in several times due to previous incidents. “Several times na po napapatawag kasi nga po parang nahuhuli dahil sa bagansya, na-operate sila,” the official explained.

Meanwhile, one parent expressed concern over the situation, admitting difficulty in supervising their child. “Masakit naman sa akin kasi ayaw kong ganyan yung anak ko eh. Eh, kaso lang hindi ko kasi matutukan sa isa yan kasi marami din sila sa bahay ko,” the parent said.

A relative of another rescued minor also pointed to peer influence as a possible factor. According to her, the child was at home but ended up joining friends outside.

Police are now calling on the jeepney driver and the passengers involved to formally file complaints to help move the investigation forward.

The high-speed pursuit began when the riders refused to comply with official orders to stop for a routine inspection by mobile patrol units. A review of the suspects' criminal history revealed previous involvement in various offenses such as illegal drug possession and vehicle theft.
