The incident took place around 2 p.m. on Friday in Barangay Kapitolyo, where the suspects were seen driving erratically. CCTV footage showed their motorcycle nearly colliding with another vehicle before the rider lost control and fell to the ground.

Police officers from the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit had been trailing the pair after they reportedly ignored a checkpoint under Oplan Sita.

“Sakto dumaan ngayon itong riding in tandem sa ating location ng Oplan Sita. So sinita ng ating mga kapulisan. Sa halip na hihinto, tumakbo.”

After catching up with the suspects, officers ordered them to lie face down before taking them into custody. Recovered from them were two loaded firearms, a hand grenade, and three sachets of suspected shabu.

“Naka-recover din tayo ng mga carnapping paraphernalia,” Mangaldan said.
“'Yung mga improvised na fuse kung saan kapag sinaksak nila 'yan sa motor na kanilang nanakawin, aandar ito, at pati mismo 'yung motor na gamit nila, lumalabas na carnapped vehicle.”

Authorities later confirmed that both suspects have prior records involving illegal substances and violations of the Anti-Carnapping Act.

They now face multiple charges, including disobedience to a person in authority, reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries and damage to property, illegal possession of firearms, and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Dru*gs Act.
