A 31-year-old man was shot and killed while purchasing a soft drink at a small store in General Santos City on Thursday, according to authorities.

A report from GMA Regional TV One Mindanao on Friday identified the victim as an employee of a motorcycle dealership in Barangay San Isidro. Initial police findings indicated that the victim had been standing at the store when gunfire suddenly erupted.

The store owner reportedly heard two gunshots and immediately looked toward the source of the sound. Moments later, the victim was seen lying on the ground, already bleeding from gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but was declared dead on arrival after sustaining fatal injuries to the body.

Crime scene investigators recovered two spent shell casings believed to be from a .45-caliber firearm, which may help authorities trace the weapon used in the attack.

Police have not yet released information regarding possible suspects or whether the shooting was targeted.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing as officers work to establish the identity of the gunman and the motive behind the incident.

They are also reviewing available evidence and potential witness accounts from the area to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the fatal shooting.

Local officials urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity that could assist law enforcement in solving the case.

Authorities investigated the incident and really looked into the case.
