Investigators also confirmed that the victim was originally from Pangasinan and had been working in the area as a helper in a local workshop. No foul play was indicated, and the case is being treated as an accidental electro*cution.
Local authorities are using the incident to remind residents about the dangers of working near electrical lines, especially when using conductive materials such as aluminum poles. They urged the public to exercise caution and coordinate with local electric providers when dealing with trees or structures close to power lines.
The fatal accident highlights ongoing safety concerns in residential and semi-rural communities, where fruit harvesting and similar activities are common. Officials continue to stress that awareness and preventive measures remain critical in avoiding similar tragedies.
In a separate development, a viral video captured a Filipino woman being attacked by a foreign man inside a mall in Singapore, drawing public alarm. The Department of Migrant Workers confirmed that its labor attaché has already reached the victim and is extending assistance. “Medical assistance is the most basic there, and of course, filing of the complaint, our lawyer would stand ready to help her,” said DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac. Authorities are handling the incident as a case of physical assault and are working with Singaporean officials to secure the woman’s treatment, legal aid, and the proper investigation needed to pursue justice.
Meanwhile, a household in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo, was left rattled after CCTV footage showed a man entering their bedroom and searching through belongings while the family slept on February 8, 2026. Homeowner Mary Rose Bustamante reported that smartphones, wallets, and more than ₱20,000 in cash were taken.
