Investigators found that the primary cause of the crash was driver fatigue. While navigating the road, the victim reportedly fell asleep. This led him to lose his grip and control over the motorcycle, causing the vehicle to swerve and crash directly into a concrete electric post.

The force of the impact was so severe that the victim was thrown from his seat. He landed face down in a grassy portion beside the road, sustaining serious injuries to various parts of his body. Passersby and responders managed to bring him to the East Avenue Medical Center in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, the injuries proved fatal, and doctors declared him dead-on-arrival.

This incident highlights the recurring dangers of the Marilaque Highway, a popular route for riders that is often prone to accidents due to its winding turns and long stretches. Authorities frequently remind motorists of the importance of being well-rested before heading out, especially during the early hours of the morning when the risk of falling asleep at the wheel is at its highest.

The community in Barangay Sampaloc is now mourning the loss of the young caretaker. Road safety advocates continue to emphasize that a few seconds of unintended sleep can lead to irreversible consequences on the road.
