He had been missing for several days before his body was recovered on Saturday from a septic tank in a backyard in Malolos City.
Central Luzon police chief Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio Peñones stated that the motive behind the brutal slay is believed to be "work-related."
Specifically, the killing is being tied to a successful anti-drug operation led by Casauay in December 2025, which disrupted the activities of a local criminal group.
"They saw him as a threat to their operations," Peñones noted during a recent briefing at Camp Crame.
Despite these latest surrenders, the primary suspect—identified as Julian “Mon” Salamat—remains at large.
Salamat is allegedly the gunman who shot Casauay multiple times. CCTV footage previously recovered by investigators showed Casauay in the company of Salamat shortly before the officer's disappearance.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has intensified the pressure on the remaining fugitives.
On Tuesday, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced a ₱1 million reward for any information leading to the arrest of Salamat and his remaining cohorts.
"The certainty of conviction is high for this case," Remulla stated, assuring the public that justice for the fallen officer is a top priority for the administration.

Local officials are considering stricter regulations on these unannounced events, citing the potential for street-level injuries and significant urban disruption.
Still in other news, a 29-year-old individual was taken into custody in Negros Oriental after allegedly splashing a responding law enforcement officer with gasoline. Despite being doused in fuel, Police Corporal Rohenio Carbo managed to overpower the suspect, preventing a potentially life-threatening escalation at the pump. Investigations into the suspect uncovered his alleged involvement in a prior motorcycle theft and an earlier physical threat against a local resident. While Corporal Carbo is reported to be recovering well, the perpetrator now faces a long list of criminal counts, including vehicle theft and violent resistance.
